Read movements, not just the final balance
An account balance is a snapshot. A statement explains how that snapshot was reached. Deposits add funds, accepted stakes remove funds from the available balance, and settled returns may add money back. A withdrawal can move money into a pending category before it reaches your receiving account. Labels and timing vary by service, so first identify what each column means.
Keep the opening balance, transaction date, currency, reference and status together. If a statement covers only today but the payment began yesterday, the missing opening entry can make a correct total look wrong. Start with one clearly bounded period and include pending items separately.
A complete example in Ghana cedis
This invented ledger assumes stakes are debited when accepted, returns include any returned stake, and a withdrawal is reserved immediately. There is no bonus, fee or currency conversion in the example.

| Movement | Change to available funds | Available balance |
|---|---|---|
| Opening balance | — | GHS 0 |
| Deposit received | + GHS 100 | GHS 100 |
| Stake accepted | − GHS 10 | GHS 90 |
| Gross return settled | + GHS 18 | GHS 108 |
| Another stake accepted | − GHS 5 | GHS 103 |
| Second selection loses | GHS 0 | GHS 103 |
| Withdrawal reserved | − GHS 30 | GHS 73 |
| Withdrawal received externally | GHS 0 in this account | GHS 73 |
The first selection produces GHS 8 profit: GHS 18 returned minus GHS 10 staked. The second loses GHS 5. The net game result is therefore GHS 3. After the withdrawal, GHS 73 remains in the account and GHS 30 has moved outside it: together GHS 103, compared with the original GHS 100.
- Account balanceGHS 73
- Funds withdrawnGHS 30
- Combined fundsGHS 103
GHS 103 − GHS 100 original deposit = GHS 3 net game result.
Pending is a state, not an extra expense
While the GHS 30 withdrawal is pending, it may appear in a separate reserved column. Do not subtract it again merely because its status later changes to completed. Similarly, if a reserved withdrawal is cancelled and released, the available balance rises by GHS 30; that release is not a game win.
Some interfaces show a total balance that includes reserved funds. Others show only the amount available to use. Read the label before comparing two screenshots. The same account may correctly display GHS 73 available and GHS 103 total while GHS 30 is still reserved.
Match the casino entry to the wallet entry
A mobile-money statement and an operator history may use different reference numbers. Compare direction, amount, time and receiving identity, then retain both references. A wallet debit demonstrates that money left that wallet; the receiving service still has its own credit record. Time-zone differences can shift a transaction to a neighbouring date.
If a fee exists, record it as a separate line rather than silently adjusting a stake. If currencies differ, retain the original amount, converted amount and actual rate or charge. The no-fee example above cannot explain a conversion without those extra fields.
Keep four totals separate
Calculate deposits, withdrawals, accepted stakes and settled gross returns independently. Deposits are not income from play. Withdrawals are transfers, not proof of profit. A large return can include a large original stake. Bonuses require their own ledger because promotional credit may not be withdrawable.
For a closed period with no pending stakes, bonuses, fees or adjustments, game result equals closing balance plus withdrawals minus opening balance minus deposits. If those exclusions do not hold, reconcile the missing categories before using the formula.
Turn a discrepancy into a specific question
A useful support request identifies one transaction, both recorded amounts, the relevant times and the status you see. Ask whether the entry is awaiting credit, reserved, reversed or completed. Avoid posting a complete account statement publicly; redact unrelated personal details when sharing a necessary extract through the verified support channel.
